To Entertain,
Educate & Enlighten...

Smoulder Productions believe that film should not only provide a true reflection of the world, but also herald the world we wish to have.

Smoulder is uncompromising in its commitment to telling important, culturally relevant stories that need to be told. We produce projects, both documentary and fiction, that chime with the current social and economic shifts; stories that encourage audiences to reflect and reassess.

In the 21st Century, many feel a deep dissatisfaction about the world around us. Smoulder believe that film can be a trailblazer at the forefront of a paradigm shift to a more compassionate stance.

We aim to balance the smaller arthouse projects alongside genre films for a more commercial audience. But we never compromise on our ethics. We hope to challenge the industry’s current landscape, contributing to positive change within it. We commit to the increased casting of BAME actors and to boosting the production of scripts that pass the Bechdel test. We also aim to nurture new and emerging talent.

Who we are

Smoulder Productions passionately believe that no other artistic medium is as powerful as film; that both the beauty of its escapism and its capacity to unify and champion sincerity has never been more important. We are prepared to take risks to uphold these principles.

3 MONTHS, 3 MARCS & A RING

A romantic drama with asphalt-black comedy moments, charting a woman's journey to discover what love really means, set in the wake of Trump's election through to his inauguration. Her journey reflects a lamenting, yet unified New York City, both of them questioning whether love really is all powerful.

Following her break up with her live-in partner Mark, Kitty - a good natured but gobby hippy - adventures to NYC, only to fall for two very opposite men of the same name. A tale that explores how sometimes the biggest loves are the briefest because of the invaluable self-realisations they bring. That the things we naturally label 'bad' can sometimes become our greatest gifts.

It's Only Love

Following her Father’s death, Lex, a hedonistic, Kid-dult, East Londoner and ex queen-bee, is left questioning the vacuity of her life while visiting her small-town, northern home and reconnecting with school-geek-done-good, Tom.
